Humpback whales of the northern and southern hemispheres come to Panama to breed and give birth. The warm waters encourage reproduction, health and welfare of their offspring. Panama is one of the few places in the world with two whale watching seasons: June to October, with several thousand whales that come from Antarctica and from December to February, with several hundred whales from Alaska. There are over 30 species of whales and dolphins that can be found in the waters of Panama.
