Green Drinks to Green Links

From Green Drinks to Green Links @ Green Drinks Panama !
In the short four months since itʼs debut at the end of June,2012, Green Drinks Panama has established itself as the main networking event for professionals and individuals,
working or interested in Sustainable Development, from green building to organic agriculture, energy efficiency to bio engineering and more….
Every last Tuesday of the month, a steadily growing group is meeting and getting to
know each other, meet the person behind a business card or company name, ask
questions and exchange information. There is indisputable value to these informal
meetings; we have added one or two short presentations on subjects that are related to
the monthʼs theme, given by field experts who connect directly with their audience and
have a chance to expose their ideas, knowledge and experience and start a discussion
that oftentimes lasts long into the night….
In the past month we went way beyond our original event, organizing the “Green
Welcome Cocktail” at ARE Green Expo (Oct.2-4 in Ciudad del Saber) where we shared
our concept with guests from Colombia, Mexico, Spain and Ecuador and leading a
“Green Tour” to the Morgan & Morgan Tower in Costa del Este, the first LEED Gold
office tower to be built in Panama. Hosted by Project Manager, Ing.Juan Felipe de la
Iglesia, the Saturday morning tour in which more than 20 Green Drinkers participated,
was extremely interesting and informative, giving us the chance to see the reality of a
series of concepts and standards that LEED certified green buildings need to
accomplish.
Always looking for ways to grow and improve our activities, Green Drinks Panama
organizer, Diana Storin had a chance to meet with Nitin Dani, President of Green Drinks
China, an organization that has now 8 chapters in different chinese cities; we decided to
exchange information and work together in order to promote green business and
collaboration in both Panama and China.
Going forward and looking into 2013, we would like to expand our value added offerings
and continuously support sustainable development in the country, by becoming THE
meeting and connecting center for Green Business and Information.
A website is in the works, as well as channels in various social media networks and
participation in print and TV media; in order to be able to continue keeping our events
free, interesting and diverse, we welcome sponsors and partners who would be
interested to associate themselves to our platform.
Please participate ! You can contact us and join our mailing list at

MAIL BOXES ETC SHOWS SUPPORT FOR ¡EL AMOR AL ARTE!

"¡EL AMOR AL ARTE!", Boquete's first juried art show for both professionals and amateurs, will be a show filled with supportive sponsors from large businesses to the smallest of individual contributors. Show producer Boquete Artworks and venue host Boquete's new library are thrilled to present their latest business sponsors to the art show.

Mail Boxes Etc owner Velkys Munoz presents Boquete Artworks President
Robyn Cole with its show of financial support for ¡El Amor Al Arte! juried art show.

"We are incredibly grateful for businesses such as Mail Boxes Etc supporting our efforts," said Robyn Cole, Boquete Artworks president. "With the help of individual and business sponsors such as Velkys and Mail Boxes Etc, we can provide prizes for BOTH professional and amateur divisions. Thank you!"

"Mail Boxes Etc is committed to being active in the Boquete Community," stated owner Velkys Munoz. "We hope other businesses and individuals that can, to please help these artists mount this regional art show. It helps business, it helps tourism, it helps people."

Artists are encouraged to submit their entries by November 12th. Details are on Artworks' web site at: www.boqueteartworks.com/2012-art-show.html

Everyone is invited to attend El Amor Al Arte's Grand Opening Reception on November 30, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Located on the 3rd floor gallery of our new, architecturally beautiful library, no one will want to miss this festive, fun- filled event. Wine, soft drinks, hors d'oeurves and music will add to the festivities.

Enjoy the fine art hand-selected by five of Panama's most respected judges of art. Meet the artists, the judges, Boquete Artworks members, Lizzy and her staff at the Library and some of Boquete's most influential residents. Over 200 guests are expected to view the awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, selected by the judges. In addition, there will be a "People's Choice" award.

Mark your calendars now, and don't miss out on this unique event celebrating fine art in Boquete.

The mission of Boquete Artworks is to bring together individuals who are interested in fostering the understanding and appreciation of art in the community to provide a forum for educational opportunities and to support local artists.

Re: [News Boquete] Flea Market This Sunday

Don't forget the monthly flea market at Chiriqui Storage this coming Sunday, November 4.

We still have a few more tables and spaces for vendors. If you have something to sell, call Penny at 6510-8934 to reserve a spot.

We say the market opens at 11:30 but the buyers start lining up at 9:30 and we open the gates at 10:00. So come early, stay late, eat a hot dog or two, and go home with a bargain.
Everything from trash to treasures will be available.

We're located 1.5 km north of the Terpel gas station in Dolega on the David - Boquete Road.

More information about Chiriqui Storage available at www.chiriquistorage.com

Fwd: Today, Wed. FISH CHOWDER

Photo below...

Good Morning,

Wel I'm up & working on a fresh batch of  New England Style FISH CHOWDER
.

Usually when I cook I keep in mind someone who has requested my dish at hand.
However, as  I hand-selected Fresh Snapper for this batch,  I watched the televised images of the havoc storm Sandy has wreaked on my precious New England and Tri-State area back home.

When I was a girl, dad used to gather oysters & clams at sunrise and make chowder during our holidays on Cape Cod. I later learned some rules of how to prepare it while working at "The Chowder House" in Greenwich, where I grew up.

I use  freshest ingredients, making  my broth & cream sauce separately, then marrying the two once I feel the flavors are just right.  Authentic chowder should not be too floury-thick or be outbalanced by potatoes.

We open at noon!   See you then.
With Love & Butter, Elizabeth

My CHOWDER

For Today, WEDNESDAY, and while it lasts... Hand-selected, New England Style FISH CHOWDER. A large bowl-full served with a Personal Loaf of lovely, Bakery-made Bread.
It's A Meal!  And ... It's a Deal!  $6.95
