Fwd: Get up, Dress up, Show up!

The InterNations Weekly

1. What's on on InterNations?

What Keeps you Up at Night?

Many times, what drives us to move abroad is the dream of that relaxed life you always wished you had. Even as the daily grind catches up with us, we usually can't let go of our idea of paradise, of a place where we could happily spend the rest of our lives. In our world forum, one of our members wants to know what you would do If you were to design a paradise for yourself….

But where there are dreams, there are also nightmares! After all, life as a global mind can be very stressful and even nerve-wracking at times. Not only the move and visa issues, but also the culture shock and language barriers can take a toll on an expat. Visit our world forum and tell us about what keeps you up at night.

2. Events and Get-Togethers Around the World

Get up, Dress up, Show up!

On Thursday, September 27th, our members in Nairobi get to enjoy their drinks, dance the night away, and make new friends. Don't miss the Nairobi September Get-Together with an "all white" dress code. Our Local Community in Sydney will kick it up a notch on Friday, September 28th, with its mix n' mingle event. Here too, the dress code is "all white" and the best outfit will win a mystery prize. So join us for an amazing night at the Sydney White Party.

Our Ambassadors in Bologna have come up with a very special event at an exclusive venue on Friday, September 28th. Not only will we party in style, but all aperitivo style food and drinks will be included in the ticket price. Both a lounge room and a beautiful ball room will be available to either relax and chat or dance the night away. So come around and meet us at the Bologna 5th Anniversary Party. Fans of the German Oktoberfest living in Bangkok are in for a treat. It is time for our Bangkok Oktoberfest Get-together on Wednesday, September 26th. So put on those Lederhosen and get ready for some authentic Bavarian food and free flow Erdinger beer.

3. InterNations Activities

DinnerNations and Curious Souls

Are you a food enthusiast who loves to try out new eateries around town? Then you should join our DinnerNations Activity Group in Taipei, for instance. The Feast continues as the group meets on Wednesday, September 26th, to enjoy a Tex –Mex dinner together. Aside from Mexican and American delights, Chinese food is available as well. On Friday, September 28th, DinnerNations Stockholm is devoting an evening to exploring the Italian cuisine. Following the motto "A tavola non si invecchia" ("One does not grow old at the table"), you get to enjoy great homemade pasta, lasagna, and authentic tiramisu.

For those among you who enjoy the good things in life, the Amsterdam Wine Tasting Group might be just the perfect choice. On Saturday, September 29th, the group has planned a weekend get-away to Maastricht, complete with a visit to a Chateau, lunch, and wine tasting. You can rent a room either near the chateau or in the city center and explore Maastricht throughout the weekend.

Global minds in Istanbul should not miss out on the Curious Souls group. The group gets together for its 1st Meeting on Sunday, September 30th. Are you curious about meeting other InterNations members in Istanbul and getting into discussions on inspirational, informative, or entertaining speeches? Then don't hesitate to join this group.
