Dear Volunteers and Friends of Amigos de Animales:
Sunday’s Venta de Patio was spectacular!
Almost 50 volunteers contributed their time, efforts, and ideas to make the event a tremendous success.
Most people don't realize what it takes to put on an activity like this. All over Boquete, our volunteers have been at work for months getting ready for the big day. Volunteers picked up and delivered donations for organization and pricing by other volunteers; they started seeds and nurtured baby plants to the point where they could be sold. They made signs, ran ads, located and erected scaffolding and bars to hold the clothes; they bought pens, tags, tablecloths, food and drink and dozens of other items; they cooked and baked. They sold thousands of items, ran the food concessions, and sold raffle tickets. Then they returned all the borrowed items, cleaned the gym and left it sparkling. In short, it was a tremendous effort, nothing short of miraculous.
Thanks to everyone who attended the event, donated their goods to the event, and/or worked the event, we were able to raise over $8500 (and counting)! Half of this money will go to continuing our spay/neuter clinics and half will go to our building fund. This year we sterilized our 5000th animal; next year we hope to have our own facility!
